The mix-up began when the family repatriated what they believed to be Peace’s body from a South African mortuary.

Peace had been tragically killed in a shootout in South Africa and his body aired to Zimbabwe.

Family members had initially expressed doubts about the identity of the body upon its arrival. However, the hearse driver dismissed their concerns, insisting it was Peace’s body.

“People even joked with the driver that if it turned out not to be our relative, he would bear the costs. But the driver was adamant he knew him,” said Patience Waziwanhaka, Peace’s sister-in-law.

The truth came to light on the day of the burial when South African authorities informed the driver of the mix-up.

Two days after the burial, the Malawian man’s body was exhumed, and the remains, along with Peace’s clothes and burial items, were taken back to South Africa.

The family is now consulting traditional leaders to address the cultural and spiritual repercussions of the mix-up.

“We thought we had given our son a befitting send-off, only to learn it was someone else,” said Theresa Tafirei, Peace’s aunt. “We don’t know the impact this will have on both families.”

Village head Tinonesana Sithole criticized the decision not to conduct a body viewing, stating it could have prevented the tragedy.

The family is now working to repatriate Peace’s actual remains from Pretoria, South Africa, so they can lay him to rest properly.

“We just want our son’s remains back,” said Martha Mutowo, Peace’s aunt.

This was during the early hours of Thursday, December 12, for allegedly stealing a standing fan and a flat-screen television.

According to a resident named Vifa, the suspected robber reportedly broke into a residence between 1:00 a.m. and 2:00 a.m. while the occupants were away.

The stolen items were discovered near the suspect’s burnt body.

Although it remains unclear who carried out the act, residents believe the incident reflects growing frustration in the community over frequent robberies in the area.

The body has however been conveyed to the morgue, with investigations ongoing to identify those responsible for the incident.

The Kano State Fire Service spokesperson, Saminu Yusif Abdullahi, confirmed the incident in a statement.

According to Abdullahi, the deceased, a driver for the first wife of the Minister of Defence, had dropped off some guests at a nearby residence.

While stepping out to urinate, he unknowingly walked onto the cover of an abandoned well, which gave way, causing him to fall in.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene within 15 minutes of receiving a distress call.

The rescue crew retrieved Yusha’u from the well unconscious and rushed him to a Specialist Hospital for medical attention. However, he was pronounced dead on arrival.

His body was handed over to the Police Division for further arrangements.

The tragedy highlights the dangers posed by uncovered or poorly maintained wells in residential areas, as residents mourn the untimely loss of Sabi’u Yusha’u.

Reports indicate that the woman, a food vendor turned gari seller, was well-known in the area.

Her daily routine involved visiting her daughter, who operates a pharmacy, after closing from the market.

However, concern arose when she failed to visit her daughter’s pharmacy as usual yesterday.

Despite several attempts to reach her via phone, there was no response.

This morning, local residents made the grim discovery of her lifeless body in the bush by the roadside.

The incident was promptly reported to the Oduom Police Station.

Upon arriving at the scene, the police found her phone, GHS800 in cash, and some market-related items.

Notably, there were no visible signs of assault or injury on the body.

The woman’s body has been taken to the Emena Hospital mortuary for an autopsy as police continue their investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death.

A search party of the Police and community members led to the retrieval of the body on the pavement of the St Kizito’s Primary school.

The yet-to-be-identified man was found naked, with his head and manhood chopped off.

This discovery comes days after a similar incident rocked the town. In the last three months, a number of people have been murdered at different locations in the town.

The Assemblyman for the Mempeasem Electoral Area, Abu Hassan, expressed grave concern over the increasing murder cases in Bole, describing the situation as serious and alarming.

He appealed to the government and security agencies for reinforcement, citing that the current Police presence as insufficient to address the escalating violence.

Abu Hassan mentioned the recent influx of new residents into the community and suggested that the murders might be orchestrated by these newcomers.

He called for measures to regulate and verify the identities of people moving into the area to prevent further incidents.

In a press statement, MoFFA expressed its dismay over video which shows youths carrying the body on their shoulders without coffin.

MoFFA deems such passage rites as disrespectful and undignified, adding that the behavior seen in the video is contrary to the solemnity expected during funeral ceremonies.

The Agency’s mandate includes licensing, controlling, and regulating all facilities involved in the storage, transportation, and disposal of human remains, and it considers the actions depicted as a direct violation of these principles.

The Agency reminded the public that such behavior not only contravenes public health and safety standards but also violates Section 285 of the Criminal and Other Offences Act, 1960 (Act 29).

This section states that unlawfully hindering the burial of a dead body or harming it without lawful authority is a misdemeanor, punishable by a fine or imprisonment.

MoFFA said it is working closely with all stakeholders to promote responsible and dignifying funeral practices across Ghana.

The Agency called on the public to report any such abhorrent acts for immediate action and encouraged everyone to uphold and cherish the memories of their departed loved ones with the respect they deserve.

The tragic event occurred on the evening of Thursday, June 20, at approximately 6:30 PM.

According to Adom News Volta Regional correspondent, Odehyeba Owusu Job, Galley Kofi was in his room with his girlfriend when a sudden lightning strike hit him, causing his immediate death.

The powerful strike left the community in shock and fear, resulting in the body being left untouched for days due to superstition.

Assemblyman for Tokokoe Electoral Area, Raymond Kporvu, explained that specific rituals are necessary to appease the gods before the body could be removed.

He explained that, no incident of lightning strike has been recorded in the area for almost a century, causing them to believe Galley’s death has spiritual connotations.

Meanwhile, a team of Police personnel and officials from the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) have visited and assessed the scene.

However, some family members requested more time to consult a shrine and perform the necessary rituals before transferring the body to the morgue.

As of Sunday morning, June 23, the body was outside, with plans for a fetish priest to perform the required rites later in the day.

The Assemblyman expressed his concern over the health risks posed by the decomposing body.

He assured that the body would be removed by the end of the day, pending the completion of the rituals, to mitigate any potential health hazards to the community.

Andrews believed to be in his late sixties was found neatly dressed in a suit and shoes, with glasses, hanging from a rope tied to the door frame.

Strangely, his legs were touching the ground.

Residents recount that the deceased who claimed Swiss residency but hailed from Ghana, had only been living in the area for about six months but was known for drinking and having fun with some of the youth.

He mentioned having a family in Switzerland while stating that his extended relatives resided in the Central region, and had built a house in Accra.

Just days before his demise, Mr. Andrews had told some residents he will travel back to Switzerland during the weekend.

He is alleged to have arranged for his belongings to be transported to his family home in the Central region by a relative a few days back.

The sudden and unexpected nature of his death has left the community reeling with shock and speculation.

The Police have taken the deceased’s body to the morgue for further examination pending an autopsy.

The lifeless body, wrapped in a sack, near the Roman Catholic Church has plunged the community into a state of shock and disbelief.

Upon removing the sack, the remains of the victim were found in a badly decomposed state, suggesting that the individual may have been killed several days prior to the discovery.

The victim, fully clothed in a t-shirt and pair of jeans, had his sandals placed together near his head inside the sack.

In an interview with Adom News’ Seth Kofi Adjei, the Assemblyman for the Afrangua Electoral Area, Issah Alhassan said the deceased is not known in the area.

He suspects the victim was killed elsewhere, placed inside the sack, and then abandoned in the vicinity.

Mr Alhassan explained that, no missing person’s report has been filed, and the community had not made any prior discoveries along the route where the body was found.

Meanwhile, Police in Saltpond has transported the body to the Cape Coast mortuary for preservation pending investigations.

The deceased was found with her head, vagina and intestines removed.

Residents believe that she was killed and thrown into the sea.

It will be difficult to identify the body due to the decomposing state but residents suspect she could be a student.

Libation and other sacrifices were performed by elders of the town before the body was touched.

It was subsequently conveyed by Police, and officers of the National Disaster Management Organization(NADMo) to the Mortuary for autopsy, preservation, and identification.

Police and residents are appealing to the general public to help identify the family of the deceased.

The victim, identified as Kweku Kakra, known locally as “Kweku Opa,” was found dead in Baifikrom cemetery with multiple bullet and cutlass wounds on his body.

His body was discovered by some residents plying the road along the cemetery.

The discovery of Kweku Opa’s body has sparked fear and concern among residents, raising questions about safety and security in the area.

Meanwhile, the police command has launched an investigation into the case, although no arrests have been made thus far.

According to reports gathered from eyewitnesses, the deceased was found with blood emanating from her nostrils and mouth, lying motionless beside her phone.

Concerned onlookers immediately notified the Awutu Senya police about the incident.

Police personnel rushed to the scene and conveyed the body to the morgue for further investigation.

The Assembly member for Kasoa Kaemebre Downtown electoral Area, Francis Obeng Twumasi expressed his condolences to the bereaved family.

He noted that, the deceased appeared to be of sound mind, leaving the community in shock and disbelief over gruesome death.

Police have assured the residents of thorough investigations to uncover her identity and the circumstances leading to her death.

Afia was pronounced dead by a medical doctor at Jema Government Hospital, but the family, convinced that she was still alive, took her body to a prayer camp for a miraculous revival.

The family engaged in fervent prayers at the camp, seeking a miracle for the hairdresser.

However, after several hours of fruitless attempts, they reluctantly returned her body to the mortuary.

Justifying their actions, some family members, including the Assembly member for the area, said Afia’s body felt warm and too fresh to be declared dead.

The family was already mourning the death of Afia mother’s who will be buried on February 10, 2024 so it was difficult the accept the sudden demise of another family member.

But, the medical doctor who declared Afia dead stopped the morgue from accepting the body.

He asked the family to write formally acknowledging that indeed their daughter is dead before the body can be deposited at the morgue.

Meanwhile, the family has agreed to submit the letter immediately to preserve the body.

Reports suggest that the individual had relocated to the area approximately two months ago to oversee the maintenance of the uncompleted structure on behalf of a couple residing in Osu.

The newly elected Assemblyman for Domeabra Electoral Area, Joseph Akrashie, disclosed that concerned residents alerted him about a foul odor emanating from the man’s residence.

Upon investigation, his decomposing remains were stumbled upon and the Danchira police were promptly contacted for assistance.

Police officers swiftly arrived at the scene, forcibly entered the locked premises, and retrieved the deceased.

The body was subsequently conveyed to the Police Mortuary for further procedures as investigations into the incident are currently underway.

The deceased, who was seated behind the steering wheel and fastened to his seatbelt, was found at a junction on Thursday morning, December 21, 2023, without any sign of bodily injury to suggest a violent attack.

Police investigators found the man with his trousers pockets and the interior of his car ransacked in a suspected robbery.

Investigators at the Homicide Section, Criminal Investigation Department (CID), are attempting to identify him and reach out to his family, as his phone is missing.

Spokesperson of the Edo State Police Command, SP Chidi Nwabuzor, who confirmed the incident said that the only available clue is a hotel receipt with the name Dr. Eromon David

According to a resident who spoke to Adom News, at approximately 2:00 am, the sound of a car circling the vicinity could be heard repeatedly. However, due to the high crime rate in the area, the resident felt it was unsafe to venture outside and investigate this unusual occurrence.

To his dismay, the body of the unidentified male was spotted in the gutter during daybreak, when he had not been there the night prior.

Some worried residents expressed their fears due to recent attacks and car snatching incidents recorded in the vicinity.

The residents pointed out that the discovery of the man’s body marked the fourth incident of bodies being dumped in gutters within the area, raising concerns.

The victim was fully clothed in blue and white stripped top and a pair of jeans and shoes, igniting suspicion that he was murdered and dumped into the gutter.

The police have visited the scene and retrieved the body.

The Assembly man for Santa Maria Electoral Area, Nana Kwasi Boahen Boanyo, on his part called on the police to beef their presence in the area and also install some of the CCTVs at some vantage points in the neighborhood.

The deceased was spotted by a resident who was on her way to fetch water along the stream.

He was found dead in the stream bare-chested while wearing only shorts and boxers.

No visible signs of struggle or physical assault were evident.

In an interview with Adom News, some Gomoa residents said he is not a member of their community.

They suspect he ended up in the stream accidentally or he was killed elsewhere and deposited into the stream.

Meanwhile, an eyewitness, Nadze Promise, revealed the Ojobi police have been notified, but as at the time of filing the report, they were yet to arrive at the scene.

The floating body was discovered by children who reported to have seen a dummy-like object on the surface of the river in the early hours of Monday.

Esther Osei, who was one of the first persons to discover the body, told Adom News’ Baffour that the matter was immediately reported to the police who visited the scene.

However, lack of financial cooperation denied the police team’s effort to retrieve the body.

It took another three hours for the residents together with the police to retrieve the body from the river.

The Assemblyman for the Santa Maria Blue Kiosk electoral area, Nana Kwasi Boadwoh Jnr, who supervised the retrieval of the body said the Environmental Agency has been tasked to disinfect the area.

The body has been deposited at a morgue awaiting further investigations.

The deceased, according to the assembly member of Mpasatia Electoral Area, Hon. Asante, is believed to be in his early 40s.

Mr Asante in an interview disclosed that the mortal remains of the deceased was found in the wee hours of Sunday, January 22, 2023.

“I received a distress call from some of my residents about the lifeless body of a man in a gutter, it was around 2:00 a.m. So I went there later only to confirm that the man had died a long time ago.

“I immediately called out District Chief execyutive Hon Isaac Kofi Marfo so we involved police for the removal of the body. We do not know what might have killed him, but health workers at Dr Boateng Mortuary at Toase told us that the man was long dead,” he narrated.

Some residents in the area told OTEC News that the situation has sparked fear and panic among them calling on police to beef up security in the area.

The incident is the first since the beginning of this year after 12 of similar cases were recorded last year in Wa.

Citi News reports teachers and pupils of the St. Aiden Anglican basic school watched in fear and disbelieve as the police tried to exhume the remains of the yet-to-be-identified body near the school’s park.

Sources at the school indicate that some pupils run into a shallow grave which had bones protruding from it.

Within minutes, the school became a point of attraction as scores of students travelled far and near to catch a glimpse of what appeared to be yet another gruesome murder in the Wa township.

Unlike similar incidents that engulfed the Wa township last year, Tuesday’s body had decomposed.

About 18 suspects have been arrested in connection with what is suspected to be ritual killings in the Wa within the past 11 months.

Sources within the Upper West regional police command indicate that investigations so far have not linked any of the suspects to the killings.

Some of the suspects have been released on medical grounds while others are still in custody pending further investigations.

Residents, however, say the killings in the Wa township are becoming one too many and must be halted by the police.

Both teachers and pupils of the St. Aiden Anglican basic school declined to speak on Tuesday’s incident.

The corpse, however, showed no signs of physical injuries, mutilation and strangulation. 

It was further learnt that the deceased was introduced to a yet-to-be identified male guest on Saturday, by her friend.

The mystery male guest, however, checked out of the hotel on Sunday, November 20. 

Spokesperson of the State Police Command, Asinim Butswat, who confirmed the development said investigation is ongoing to identify the suspects who lodged in the hotel room on the night of the incident. 

“On 21st November 2022, the manager of a hotel in Twon Brass reported at the Divisional Police Headquarters, Brass, said that he perceived an offensive odour from one of the rooms in the hotel. Upon a search he discovered a lifeless female corpse hidden inside a wardrobe,” the PPRO stated. 

“The deceased was later identified as Nengi Enenimiete ‘f’ aged 16. Investigation is ongoing to identify the suspects who lodged in the hotel room on the night of the incident. The corpse has been evacuated and deposited at the mortuary for autopsy. Investigation is ongoing,” he added.

No concrete details of the victim has been found, except for a tattoo on his arm which bore the name Zibilla Mohammed.

The fair and slim deceased male, who is believed to be a Northener, was found by the roadside without clothes with gory injuries on multiple parts of his body.

In an interview with Adom News, some eyewitnesses told correspondent Kofi Adjei that they believe it is a hit-and-run situation or his body was dumped there after being killed elsewhere.

Meanwhile, Assembly member for Esuahyia-Kutukwaa electoral area, Patrick Forson, said he called on the police and Environmental Protection Agency to analyse and convey the body.

One person has been found dead in the Weija floods.

The body of the male adult was discovered in a house at Tetegu on Thursday afternoon (October 6, 2022).

It was lying in one of the rooms, which was filled with water.

The body had been trapped in between some items in the room.

He has been identified as Addi Kwashie, a 55-year-old truck pusher, popularly known and referred to in the area as Chocholoocho.

Residents in the area told Graphic Online’s reporter, Gabriel Ahiabor, who witnessed the retrieval of the body, that he had not been spotted in the last two days.

The police were informed about the incident and they have since conveyed the body to the morgue.

The Guntingli community members woke up on Tuesday morning to the discovery of the dead body lying in the middle of a lone road.

According to residents, the battered deceased gentleman is not a member of their community, leaving them to believe he is a robbery victim.

Information gathered revealed the gentleman was robbed of his motorbike and mobile phones, before his body was dumped in the area.

Some community members, who spoke to Adom News, believe the incident happened in the night due to the unavailability of street lights.

They are, therefore, calling on the Yendi Municipal authorities to address the issue of light.

Meanwhile, the police have visited the scene and transported the body to the Yendi Municipal Government Hospital morgue as investigations continue.

This is the second of such slaying to be witnessed in the area.

The victim, believed to be in his late 40s, was found naked from waist down and evident bruises on his head and other parts of his body.

A worker of the block factory, who gave his name as Samuel Ofori, told Adom News’ Seth Kofi Adjei that they heard cries for help around 1:00 am.

However, he added that based on previous incidents and fear for his safety, he could not rush out to help the victim.

It was until his return to work during daybreak that he discovered the bloody scene and the victim deceased in the block factory.

Other residents are positive the victim is not a member of the community.

The incident has been reported to the police and the body retrieved.

The deceased, a woman believed to be in her fifties, was found in the bush, lying in a supine position with visible wounds to her face.

She was discovered naked from the top, while wearing a blue underwear with black skirt and a pair of socks.

Eyewitnesses, who spoke to Adom News’ Obrempongba K.Owusu, suspect she may have been killed and dumped in their community since she is not a familiar face.

Other residents fear for their lives as they believe the perpetrators are still at large.

However, the Apesokubi Police station officer, Inspector Emmanuel Otto, who refused to comment on the matter, said the police have visited and accessed the scene.

The body has been deposited at the Worawora Government Hospital awaiting identification and autopsy.

Police say investigations will commence shortly after.

The deceased was last seen on top speed on his motorbike around 3 pm, Monday afternoon.

Residents plying the route of the dam saw a body in the water, which was later discovered to be Nana Yaw.

Police preliminary investigations have suggested that he did not die from drowning.

According to the mother of the deceased, Paulina Quaye, police revealed blood was the only liquid emitting from his nose and mouth during first aid.

This had intensified suspicions that he may have been murdered and dumped in the abandoned community dam.

A resident told Adom News this is the first such incident to rock the Awutu Bereku community.

He explained the water in the dam is not deep enough to cause a 23-year-old to drown.

Meanwhile, Nana Yaw’s motorbike is yet to be discovered.

Residents woke up to find the naked body of the man believed to have been lynched lying in a prone position in the middle of a footpath.

Information gathered suggested he is a member of a notorious robbery syndicate and he is believed to have been captured during one of such operations.

Awutu Senya East Municipal NADMO Director, Kwame Amoah, said the bruises on his body are consistent with lynching and not a mere abuse.

He added that the lifeless body has been conveyed to the Police Hospital morgue.

The Kasoa police have commenced investigations after being notified of the development.

The victim was found in a supine position on a refuse dump with cutlass wounds all over his body.

Preliminary investigations indicated that, the assault was purported to have been carried out by cutlass-wielding men hiding in the forest whose reasons are not yet known.

Residents who spoke to Adom News suspect the body was dumped in the forest after the vicious attack.

This is the second of such incident to be recorded in the forest in a month.

Residents claim about three weeks ago, a human head was mysteriously discovered at another stretch of the forest.

The residents have called on Regional Security Council (REGSEC) and the Forestry Commission to beef up security in the area.

The body of Erick Cedeno was removed from its coffin by a group of his friends in Portoviejo, in Ecuador’s Manabi province. 

Cedeno, 21, died last weekend after reportedly being shot by two assailants while on his way to attend a funeral. 

Cedeno was removed from his wooden coffin by his group of friends for the ride. They claimed to have received permission for the send-off from Cedeno’s family

Video footage shows the group removing Cedeno from his wooden coffin and carrying his body towards a waiting motorcycle.

He is then positioned behind the bike’s rider, and another friend then sat behind Cedeno to ensure his body didn’t fall off during the ride. 

As the men are moving Cedeno’s body, a large crowd is also seen to have gathered to observe the bizarre scene.

The motorbike then drives off down a road and some of the friends who helped set the send-off up can be seen cheering and raising their hands in the air. 

La Repubica also reports that the friends poured alcoholic drinks on Cedeno’s coffin. 

The group claim they received permission from Cedeno’s parents for the send-off – but authorities slammed the incident as ‘aberrant’.

Though none of those involved in removing Cedeno’s body from his coffin have been arrested by the authorities. 

And due to his funeral being considered a private function, an investigation into the incident has not been opened.   

In some parts of the world, digging up dead relatives is seen as a traditional custom – with those removed from graves washed and sometimes dressed in new clothes. 

The body of the mid-adult was found with wounds consistent with stabbing with a broken bottle, as well as sticks inserted into his private part.

He was found naked, in a prone position with blood oozing from his face and other parts of his body.

A trail of blood in the area suggested that he was killed some 100m away from the spot he was found at.

NADMO Director of the area, Kwame Amoah, said a careful examination of the body by the district police suggests that he died a painful death.

Meanwhile, Assembly member for the electoral area, Abdul Malik Yussif, told Adom News’ Seth Kofi Adjei that he has unconfirmed information that the victim was a member of a robbery syndicate.

According to him, the deceased was lynched following a robbery gone wrong during the light-out period.

That notwithstanding, he appealed to the people of Kasoa to desist from instant justice and leave the security agencies to do their jobs.

The body has been conveyed by Kasoa Police to Police Hospital Morgue pending identification and investigations.

The body of Christina Nance, 29, was discovered by a police officer walking to the parking lot at around 9.15 am on Thursday outside the Huntsville Public Safety Complex. The police said that the van was last used in March to transport evidence approved for destruction from cleared cases.

Madison County Coroner’s Office found no evidence of foul play or trauma, but an autopsy and a toxicology analysis could provide further information surrounding her cause of death.

Her family, who are desperately seeking answers, are asking to see the security camera footage. Investigators are currently reviewing surveillance video to try to determine when she entered the van.

Nance had reportedly been missing for two weeks.

“We do not believe that our sister would just randomly walk to a van and climb in it. First of all, why wasn’t the van locked on police property?” the deceased victim’s sister, Whitney Nance, told ABC31. “She was in the van the entire time and nobody knew. Not even the police department knew,” the sister said.

Whitney says that her sister had been to the police department numerous times to ask for help and called her family members to pick her up.

According to WHNT, Nance had been arrested on several times non-violent violations over the last eight years, most frequently for disorderly conduct.

“We really don’t know how our relative’s body was found inside a police van on police property and we need some justice,” Frank Matthews, a local activist and Christina’s cousin, said at a press conference. “We need some clarity and Christina cannot speak for herself.”

According to the police fact sheet sighted by 3news.com, the three – Kalefe Korku, 42, Afedo Kpotor, 21, and Ametoke Sitsofe, 27 – informed a fetish priest at Agbozume that they had a dead body they were selling, so he should assist them to get a buyer.

The police were informed and they feigned interest to buy the body at GH¢7,000.

The supposed buyer agreed to meet the suspects at Agavedzi near a lagoon to receive the dead body.

But upon seeing the police, the suspects abandoned the dead body and bolted.

They were, however, chased by the police, who arrested all of them at their various houses at Agavedzi, Agbozume and Adina.

The dead body, identified as that of Albert Anyinado, has been deposited at the Ketu South Municipal Hospital morgue, awaiting autopsy.

The suspects are in custody assisting in investigations.

The body, believed to be in the drains for a couple of days, was found by some residents using the footbridge.

He was found in a prone position while fully clothed in a red shirt and trousers. He is believed to be in his 30s.

An Adom News source disclosed that the scene at Tema Community 5 area is prone to robbery.

He added that there were visible stab wounds on the back of the decomposing body.

The police have visited the scene and retrieved the body from the drains.

Unit Committee Chairman of the area, Selasi Atikpo, said the police are yet to identify the body suspected to be a male in his thirties.

Mr Atikpo said the Amafrom Police were called to the scene but were unable to retrieve the body from the waste water because of the absence of proper equipment.

Except for the two stiff hands sticking out of the water, the body could be mistaken for garbage.

As at the time of filing this report, the police had still not arrived with the required equipment, as residents wait for retrieval and identification.

The mother of Akosua Adjeiwaa said she last saw her when she came to seek permission to go on preaching duties as part of a church programme.

Her mother, who is a Baptist Church member, claims her daughter is not a member and that there was no activity in the church on the day of the incident.

She added, however, that after a while, some construction workers of the uncompleted church building alerted her that Akosua was lying in a pool of blood.

Residents who spoke to Adom News suspect foul play, believing she was lured into the building by her killer.

Also, the construction worker who discovered the deceased said her head might have been slammed into a concrete block which was left at the scene.

Unit Committee Chairman of the electoral area, Patrick Nuako, said no such crime has been witnessed before in the area.

Police in Kenyaase have commenced investigations into the matter.

The deceased was spotted about 5:pm on April 1 by some passersby who reported to the authorities.

Considering his outfit, one could tell he was a corporate worker, yet authorities were yet to respond to calls to retrieve the body.

Residents expressed fury at the police service and said the stench from the site was unbearable, considering the river is a source of water for many in the district.

After long absence of the police, residents volunteered to do the removal mission of the corpse to save the water.

It was evident the deceased male had begun decomposing.

Presiding member of the Nsawam Assembly, Otoo Bekoe, said “we are working to remove it for burial, this can’t go to the mortuary.”

The deceased is a migrant, believed to be in his 40s, who sought shelter in the community.

A witness told Adom News’ reporter, Sulley Dramani, who followed the report, that he was sent off by the traditional leaders to search for cure for his unknown ailment.

But, unknown to them, the deceased found another abode in a poultry farm in the community, where he had been hiding until his demise.

The body, which had badly decomposed and mummified, was found in the farm on Thursday, February 4, after residents traced the source of the smell.

Residents told Adom News the Assembly member for the area, Thomas Obeng Twumasi, the Traditional Council and the police were immediately notified.

But, four days after, no authority has showed up to transport the body to the morgue and bring them relief.

No family member has complained of a missing person ever since he appeared in the community to the time of his death.

A man, believed to be in his 40s, was the victim of a homicide and his body was left to decay at the dumpsite at Ajumako in the Ajumako Enyan Essiam District of the Central Region.

A staff, who discovered the body, confirmed the deceased had been wounded on his neck and face with a sharp object suspected to be a cutlass.

The unidentified man was shirtless, only clad with belted trousers with his waist bound with a yellow rope.

In an interview with Adom News, some witnesses confirmed the man is not a resident and they suspect that he was murdered elsewhere and dumped in their area.

Meanwhile, the case has been reported to the Ajumako Police Command while investigations continue.

Some angry Muslim youth in Yeji in the Bono East Region have stormed the Yeji Hospital to demand the body of their colleague who was shot dead in his shop Sunday night around 11 pm.

The youth, numbering about 600, have massed up at the hospital’s morgue to ensure that their colleague who was killed by armed robbers is buried immediately in accordance with Muslim tradition.

The Zongo Chief of the area, Selky Adams, in an interview on Adom FM’s morning show Dwaso Nsem Tuesday said when the incident happened on Sunday night, they were given a letter by the medical doctor to be given to the police to facilitate the process.

He said the Police Command was demanding GHC 3,000 for autopsy from the youth before the body of the deceased could be released to them.

He said the money was expected to be given to the Police on Tuesday but since they have no money, they have decided to mass up at the hospital and pray for their dead brother.

“As our custom demands, when our brother was shot and killed on Sunday night, he was rushed to the hospital but we were later told by the police to go and bring 30 million for autopsy report.”

“The truth is that the guy was shot by armed robbers in his shop and we have no money so where are they expecting us to get that money from? That is why we have come to the morgue to demand the body for burial,” he explained.

Meanwhile, the body was released to the group around 8:30 am on Tuesday and the angry youth began the burial process at the hospital.

He said perpetrators of the act must also be dealt with drastically to serve as deterrent to others.

Okufo Twum Beriama IVs action followed failure by family of the deceased to adhere to his directive for them not to bury in the area until they had resolved all outstanding issues with his palace including a fine that was yet to be paid.

The chief claims the family usurped his authority by going ahead to bury him without following the due processes as he demanded insisting he was justified in directing his boys to exhume the decomposing body.

According to him, the deceased whilst alive, failed to take part in communal labour and once he was the owner of the land in question, he demanded the bereaved families exhume the body that had been buried for about a week.

The deceased who is a member of the Asona family, was reported to have been slapped with a GH¢ 500 fine for his refusal to attend communal labour but did not settle his indebtedness before his death.

But reacting to the development, Mr Fifi Baako described the act as unfortunate and lawless.

According to him, the act of lawlessness and indiscipline on the part of individuals in the area will come to a halt if perpetrators of such incident are arrested.

“These people need to be taught a lesson and therefore I call on the police to arrest all of them including the chief” the MCE warned.
