In the complaint, the “With You” singer, 35, accuses Warner Bros. Discovery, Ample Entertainment and others of promoting and publishing defamatory claims, including that he raped a woman in 2020, despite being supplied with “proof” that counters the allegations, per TMZ.

Brown’s lawsuit alleges that the Jane Doe at the heart of the “A History of Violence” documentary has been discredited multiple times and adds that she previously withdrew a suit she brought against him.

However, other reporting about the docuseries at the time of its release in October 2024 states that the Jane Doe’s $20 million lawsuit brought against Brown in 2022 was dismissed that same year by a judge who cited lack of prosecution.

The woman had made a report to Miami Beach Police but, according to “A History of Violence,” they concluded that her claims were unfounded and that no probable cause existed to charge Brown.

In his lawsuit, Brown also claims that he has never been convicted “of any sex related crime” and blasts the documentary’s producers for dubbing him “a serial rapist and a sexual abuser” in the series.

According to TMZ, the singer goes on to claim the producers ignored facts and chose instead to defame him and his reputation, which he says he spent over ten years repairing in the wake of his 2009 domestic violence incident with his ex-girlfriend Rihanna (Brown pleaded guilty to felony assault in June of that year).

Asserting that he’s taken responsibility for his “past mistakes” and has grown from them, Brown says “A History of Violence” pushes an old narrative “in the name of fame and fortune,” as TMZ puts it.

Brown is seeking $500 million in damages, alleging the docuseries has negatively impacted his reputation, career, and business opportunities, per the court docs. He reportedly plans to donate a portion of the whopping sum to victims of sexual abuse if awarded.

“Chris Brown: A History of Violence” aired on the Warner Bros. Discovery-owned network Investigation Discovery in October 2024.

The Jane Doe mentioned in Brown’s lawsuit provided on-camera testimony in the series. Though seen only in silhouette to protect her identity, she said that she was speaking out to “shed light on what really happened.”

“Unless people start speaking up and people actually stop victim blaming the people that do speak up, then that’s the only way he can be stopped,” the accuser said.

“Chris Brown raped me. And I can say that, and I know it for a fact instead of telling myself that it wasn’t,” Doe added. “It was rape.”

The incident took place during a “meet and greet” session following Brown’s recent concert at the FNB Stadium in South Africa, where the woman, 34, had the pop star plant a kiss on her cheek.

In court filings, the husband claims that the image, which quickly circulated on social media, disrespected him and caused irreparable harm to their marriage.

He described the photograph as “demeaning” and asserted that his wife’s actions were inappropriate for someone in a committed relationship. He stated that her decision to take the photo breached his trust and their marital vows.

Conversely, the wife has maintained that the kiss was innocent and taken out of context.

She argued that it was simply a playful interaction during a fan meet-and-greet, insisting that she never meant to disrespect her husband.

Furthermore, she suggested that her husband’s response is an overreaction and points to deeper issues with their marriage.

Chris Brown on Tuesday raised excitement levels among his South African fans with his announcement that he would be coming to the country.

Taking to Instagram, the top charting musician posted on his Stories “South Africa I’m coming”, he wrote.

The singer is being sued by a man named Abe Diaw, who claims Chris smashed him over the head with a bottle of Don Julio 1942 tequila back in February at TAPE nightclub in England.

In the lawsuit, obtained by TMZ, Diaw claims Chris wielded the tequila bottle like a weapon as he pummeled Diaw over the head with “crushing blows.”

The guy claims he was knocked unconscious but says that didn’t stop Chris from continuing the attack, he says Chris Brown ruthlessly stomped on him as he lay passed out on the club floor.

In the documents, Diaw claims he had to be hospitalised as a result of his alleged injuries, which he says include cuts on his head and torn ligaments in his leg.

Chris’ accuser says there’s surveillance footage of the whole thing and cops in London have the alleged beatdown video. Diaw claims he can identify Chris in the footage and claims the singer is a fugitive in the United Kingdom as a result of the alleged incident.

Diaw claims he’s known Chris for at least seven years and thought Chris was coming up to hug him at the club when Brown instead allegedly struck him three times with the tequila bottle.

Diaw says his injuries may be permanent and he’s suffering serious emotional distress and trauma. He’s suing Chris for damages.

The rapper attempted to perform a lap dance around one fan who sat on the stage, but she seemed more preoccupied with capturing the moment.

Videos of the moment, which were posted on TikTok, show Chris repeatedly pulling the phone out of the fan’s hand, but she continues to pose with it high in the air.

The Give Me Everything hitmaker performed a sexy lap dance for the fan, who was on the chair in the middle of the stage surrounded by his backing dancers.

But still more preoccupied with getting her moment in the spotlight, the fan once again grabs her phone to film herself.

Chris Brown at one point snatched it and put it back screen down on her laps, yet she took it back the next second to continue filming.

Having had enough, Chris snatches the phone away and throws it into the crowd, to the fan’s clear shock. 

The stage then plunges into darkness following the end of the performance. 

Despite having her expensive phone pulled from her hands, another fan shared a TikTok showing the fan managed to track it down in the audience after the concert.

In an interview on Daybreak Hitz, the Rock star said he would also love to have a song with Justin Bieber and Elemay.

According to him, it is about time he moves on from local collaborations to international features that will cement his music prowess.

The Lynx signee said he would be more than elated to give Nicki Minaj a verse to rap on if he had the opportunity.

According to TMZ, the 32-year-old artiste is accused of raping a woman in late 2020 outside Diddy’s Star Island home.

The plaintiff, identified as Jane Doe, claims she was speaking to a friend via FaceTime when Brown grabbed the phone and told her to come to Miami immediately.

The lawsuit states the woman—who describes herself as a model, choreographer, and musical artiste—arrived on the property on December 20, and met Brown on a yacht parked at Diddy’s residence.

Shortly after she boarded the yacht, Brown allegedly asked her if she wanted a drink. The complaint states she accepted the offer and followed the singer into the yacht’s kitchen area, where she was handed a mixed drink.

Jane Doe says she and Brown began talking before she was given a refill; it was at that time, the woman claims to have experienced “a sudden, unexplained change in consciousness.”

The lawsuit alleges the woman became “disoriented, physically unstable, and started to fall in and out of sleep.” Brown then allegedly took her to a bedroom while she was “drugged” and wouldn’t let her leave.

Jane Doe says Brown then removed her bathing suit bottom and began kissing her. She claims the artiste ignored her pleas to stop and proceeded to rape her.

According to the complaint, Brown then ejaculated inside the woman, stood up, and told her that he was “done.”

Jane Doe says Brown contacted her the following day and demanded her to take Plan B—a morning-after emergency contraception pill.

The woman claims she did as she was told, and never reported the incident to authorities. Her attorneys, Ariel Mitchell and George Vrabeck say their client didn’t go to the police because she was embarrassed.

The woman is seeking $20 million in damages over the emotional stress caused by the alleged attack.

This is after music idol, Beyonce, selected over 20 African acts to feature in her Black is King project, an initiative to re-tell the African story in a bid to correct misrepresentation about the continent.

In a related development, American rapper, Chris Brown, has agreed to studio work with Nigerian superstar Davido, and visuals are set to be released.

Their upcoming song is titled Shopping Spree, which includes elements of Afrobeats rhythm, rap and choreography.

In a post Davido made on Instagram, he showcased some photos from his meeting with Chris Brown, when they were having fun on set.

This is the second time Davido has recruited Chris Brown on his works; the first was a track on his A Good Time album, which also featured Nicki Minaj.

This is the second music video to be released from both artistes.

Fans of both artistes have taken to social media to express excitement that they will finally have a glimpse of the long-awaited video.

Conversations around the music video are massive such that the artistes have been trending since the announcement.

The R&B star, 32, is alleged to have struck the woman on Friday 18 June.

Officers were called to an area in the San Fernando Valley, southern California, at 7.30am local time, a spokesman for the Los Angeles Police Department said.

A crime report for battery has been completed and LA city’s attorney’s office will now consider whether to bring any charge.

The US singer wasn’t present when police arrived at the scene, the spokesman said.

“The victim advised that she and the suspect argued and the suspect struck her,” he added.

Chris Brown’s representatives have not yet responded to Newsbeat’s request for comment.

The Grammy-winning artist received five years probation and a community service order for assaulting his then-girlfriend, Rihanna, in 2009.

In 2017, another former girlfriend – actress and model Karrueche Tran – was granted a five-year restraining order against him.

The 30-year-old singer uploaded a clip of the shocking incident to his Instagram account on Saturday, March 28, showing the “Loyal” star cowering behind a wall while a woman yells at him from the other side of it.

Claiming the woman had previously tried to climb the fence protecting his property, the star wrote in the caption: “Mental illness is real!! she tried to sneak over the gate at my crib but she saw my dog and he saw her.”

While much of what the woman said was unintelligible, she appeared to be asking Chris does he “know Lorena”. “No,” he yelled back, before calling the woman “crazy”.

She went on to call the “Forever” star her “life partner”.

It’s not Chris’ first run-in with a stalker – back in 2016, the father-of-two secured a protection order from Danielle Patti, who invaded his home on three separate occasions.

She claimed she had dated the hitmaker and he harassed her on social media.
