Surfline closed down over GHC37 million tax default

-

Officials of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) have closed down Surfline Communication Limited for the non-payment of a GHC37 million-tax owed the state.

The closure happened after several hours of meeting between Surfline’s Management and officials from GRA.

The debt is an accumulated of tax default from the year, 2015 to 2018, Public Relations Officer for the GRA, Kwasi Bobie has said.

The closure according to him, follows the refusal of the communications outfit to heed several admonitions given to Surfline to file their tax returns.

As a result, the  GRA has locked the Surfline’s premises.

Mr Bobie explained that the Management of Surfline has been given a 10-day period to come to an agreeable settlement plan with the GRA.

Should Surfline fail to bring a settlement plan to GRA, Mr Bobie explained, his outfit will then decide the next line of action.
