Suhum NPP suspends two executives over anti-party activities

-

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has suspended two of its executives from the Suhum Constituency due to alleged anti-party activities.

The Constituency Communication Officer, Samuel Baah, and Alhaji Bala Abubakar, the Deputy Constituency Nassara Coordinator, received their suspension letters from the Constituency Executive Committee (CEC).

In a statement issued on Tuesday, August 13, Constituency Secretary Stephen A. Odame said both executives were found guilty of violating the party’s constitution.

Their actions, deemed divisive and contrary to party principles, included campaigning against the party’s parliamentary candidate, organizing processions with anti-party messages, and submitting a petition for the incumbent MP to run as an independent candidate.

The CEC cited breaches of Articles 3(9)(1) and 3(5)(a)(2) and (4) of the NPP Constitution, leading to the forfeiture of their membership and suspension from their positions.

The party has underscored the importance of discipline and unity in preparation for the 2024 elections and warned that similar behaviour will not be tolerated.
