A five-man crew from the Suhum Municipal Fire Station, led by STNO II Antwi Forson, saved a high-tension line from disaster at Amanase Zongo.

The incident occurred on Monday, March 3, when residents noticed flames emanating from the cables, followed by a rapid fire outbreak.

The fire personnel arrived on time and found an Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) high-tension fuse ablaze.

To ensure safety, firefighters immediately contacted ECG to disconnect power before beginning the firefighting process.

The fire, caused by overheating from high-pressure loads, had already damaged the fuse and destroyed some meters and cables.

However, thanks to the firefighters’ timely intervention, the flames were successfully extinguished within an hour, preventing further destruction.
