Assistant coach of the national U-17 women’s team, Coach Mallam has stated that one major problem the team has to deal with is the ages of players.
According to the former Bolga All Stars head coach, the team always encounter difficulties when it comes to finding replacements for the players who have graduated to the Black Princesses team.
“One major problem we face with the Black Maidens is the ages of the players. As I speak to you now, we have about six good players who have left the team to join the Black Princesses, however, it’s been very difficult trying to get replacements for them,” he told Asempa Sports.
“In this situation, we have to try and build a new team which has not been easy at all but we will do our best and manage those within the age bracket to get the points we need to qualify for the World Cup”.
The national U-17 Women’s team began camping at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram from Wednesday, 1st November, 2017 ahead of their upcoming game.
The team will start their 2018 FIFA U-17 World Cup campaign with a qualifying match against their Gambian counterparts in December.
