Starlink set to launch operations in Ghana by end of August 2024

-

The National Communications Authority (NCA) has announced that Starlink, the satellite internet service operated by SpaceX, will officially commence its operations in Ghana by the end of August 2024.

This follows the successful completion of all necessary administrative and licensing processes with the NCA.

Starlink will be operated locally by SpaceX Starlink GH LTD, bringing its advanced satellite-based internet services to Ghanaian consumers.

This development marks a significant step forward in expanding high-speed internet access across the country, particularly to underserved and remote areas where traditional internet infrastructure is limited.

The move aligns with the NCA’s mission to promote efficient and reliable communication services in Ghana.

The regulatory body has worked closely with SpaceX to ensure that all operational and licensing requirements were met, facilitating a smooth entry for Starlink into the Ghanaian market.

Starlink’s arrival in Ghana is anticipated to have a positive impact on various sectors, including education, healthcare, and business.

By providing reliable and high-speed internet access, Starlink aims to support economic growth and development across the country.
