What happened during Sunday’s game?

The GhPL game week three match between Kotoko and Berekum Chelsea turned into drama after a Porcupine Warrior defender was sent off.

Empem Dacosta was shown a second yellow card for stepping on Alfred, a Chelsea player who down on the turf.

The referee’s decision did not go down well with the home fans who believed the brawl was between Kwame Adom, a different Kotoko player and an opposition player.

Fans of the two time African champions, bent on avenging the red card, started throwing bottles and sachets of water onto the field.

This halted the game for several minutes towards the end.

After the match, referee, Charles Bulu and his assistants had to be heavily guarded before being able to leave the pitch.

The prolonged disturbance after the game caused the law enforcers to fire shots, reportedly at the crowd.
