The Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) has disbursed a total of GHȼ450.07 million to 251,576 pensioners for September 2024.
The payments, made on September 19, 2024, cover pension benefits under both PNDC Law 247 and Act 766.
SSNIT reported that the highest monthly pension under PNDC Law 247 was GHȼ186,777.58, while the highest under Act 766 amounted to GHȼ26,509.66.
The lowest pension for current pensioners stood at GHȼ409.10, while new pensioners received a minimum monthly pension of GHȼ300.00.
Compared to August, 996 more pensioners benefited from the total GH¢450 million disbursement.
Pensioners can access their benefits through their respective banks, with the next payment scheduled for October 17, 2024.
This payout highlights SSNIT’s continued commitment to ensuring financial security for retirees and encourages workers to plan for retirement to maximize their benefits.
