The Kumasi Area Manager of the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) has urged employers to prioritize enrolling their new employees onto the SSNIT pension scheme to enable them enjoy benefits on retirement.

According to Adomako Mensah, SSNIT has not delayed in paying benefits to pensioners since 1992, hence the call for every working person, either in private or public sector, to join for future benefits.

“Registration and updating of social security don’t come with any cost,” he emphasized.

He spoke to Adom News when SSNIT paid a working visit to the Apostolic Golden Jubilee School in Kumasi to celebrate national chocolate day. The Trust expressed its loyal appreciation by sharing chocolate with the administration and encouraged others to join.

Mr. Adomako Mensah said, “irrespective of the kind of work you are doing, you qualify to register for SSNIT by your Ghana Card which you can pay your SSNIT contribution through MOMO with no charge”.

He encouraged all workers to register for pensions to reduce poverty in the future.

The headteacher of Apostolic Golden Jubilee School, Elder Akwasi Nimo and his staff were excited for celebrating the chocolate day with SSNIT.

“This is going to create a strong bond between us and SSNIT and also give us awareness of contributing to SSNIT for our future,” he said.

He urged his fellow head teachers to ensure prompt payment of their employees SSNIT contributions.

February 14 is celebrated as National Chocolate Day. SSNIT seized the opportunity to appreciate clients in branches across the country.
