The Vice Presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, has urged the Electoral Commission to ensure transparency and fairness in its dealings with all political parties to guarantee a peaceful election process.

She made these remarks during a courtesy call on the chiefs and elders of Dadieso in the Suaman Constituency, as part of her campaign tour of the Western North Region.

Prof. Opoku-Agyemang emphasized Ghana’s global reputation for peace and stability, highlighting the Electoral Commission’s crucial responsibility to remain impartial in its operations.

She stressed that fair treatment of political parties and stakeholders is vital for preserving the nation’s peace as the elections draw near.

Additionally, she underscored the important role of traditional rulers and community leaders in maintaining the country’s peace.

Prof. Opoku-Agyemang called on these leaders to be vigilant and to proactively address any potential actions by the Electoral Commission that could undermine the election’s integrity and threaten Ghana’s stability.

“We have only one Ghana, and I urge our traditional leaders to speak out against any actions by the Electoral Commission that may compromise the credibility of the December 7 General Elections,” she stated.
