SONA 2025: My gov’t will reduce number of presidential staffers – Mahama
-

President John Dramani Mahama has announced a drastic reduction in the number of presidential staffers in his administration.
The President emphasized the need for a lean but efficient government to cut down on expenditure.
Speaking during his first State of the Nation Address (SONA) in his second term on Thursday, February 27, in Parliament, Mahama stressed the importance of prioritizing efficiency.
“We cannot continue to run a government where the cost of administration outweighs the benefits to the people. My government will take decisive steps to reduce the number of presidential staffers to promote efficiency and accountability,” he declared.
He assured that the reduction would not compromise the effectiveness of governance but rather enhance productivity.
“A smaller, more competent team is what we need to drive our development agenda. We must cut down on bureaucracy and focus on delivering results that positively impact the lives of Ghanaians,” he said.
