Some reactions about new parliamentary chamber misplaced – NPP MP

-

New Patriotic Party Member of Parliament (MP) for Abuakwa South Constituency, Osei Bonsu Amoah has described some reactions about the proposed new Parliamentary Chamber as misplaced.

Speaking in an interview on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen show, Mr Amoah cautioned that the proposed construction must not give room for parliamentarians to be underrated in discharging their duties.

“I know such things are done through collective decisions and we should be careful we don’t bastardise or malign Parliament in the process of criticising this decision,” he cautioned.

“Some of the reactions concerning this new chamber construction are misplaced. I was on a radio station when a comment came in that parliament needs to operate on a WhatsApp platform with the Speaker as an administrator,” he recounted.

According to the MP, who doubles as the Deputy Minister for Local Government and Rural Development, the proposed construction is yet to undergo scrutiny in Parliament for consideration.

“I don’t think it is a priority because Parliament is now going to be engaged, look for money and go through procurement processes,” he said.
