A group of National Democratic Congress (NDC) executives from the Ashanti Region reportedly stormed the residence of Adansi North District Chief Executive (DCE), Eric Kusi Junior, at Kuna near Fomena, to seize 1,015 bags of fertilizer.
The Deputy Operations Commander for the NDC, Nana Amankwah Prempeh, confirmed the incident to Adom News correspondent Isaac K. Normanyo,
He explained, “We received information that the DCE had stored fertilizers in his house, and that is why we came here to investigate and take action.”
In response, Eric Kusi Junior, the DCE for Adansi North, admitted that the fertilizers were indeed stored at his house but clarified the ownership.
“It is true that there are 1,015 bags of fertilizer in my house, but they belong to the Member of Parliament for Fomena Constituency, Lawyer Andrew Amoako Asiamah, the Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament,” he stated.
The development has raised questions among local residents and political observers, with some wondering about the intended use of the fertilizers and why they were stored at a private residence.
Further investigations are expected as both parties defend their actions and intentions regarding the seized fertilizers.
