A Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) armoured vehicle has been involved in a fatal accident at Saka, a community near Zebilla in the Upper East Region, claiming the life of one soldier and leaving six others critically injured.

The vehicle, which was traveling from Bawku to Bolgatanga, reportedly lost control after one of its rear tires detached, causing it to veer off the road and crash.

Eyewitnesses say the vehicle was moving at high speed before the accident occurred. The injured soldiers were swiftly rushed to the Zebilla District Hospital for urgent medical attention.

Personnel from the Zebilla Police Command arrived at the scene to manage the situation and assist in evacuating the victims.

This tragic incident has once again raised concerns among residents about the frequent speeding of military vehicles in the area, which has led to multiple accidents and casualties in recent months.

This is not the first such occurrence.

On October 16, 2024, a military vehicle traveling from Bawku to Bolgatanga crashed at Bazua, killing one soldier.

Another accident occurred at Zebilla on January 9, 2025vinvolving an armoured vehicle resulted in fatalities.

A similar crash at Bazua on February 11, 2025 claimed the lives of two motor riders.

Residents are demanding stricter enforcement of speed limits and enhanced safety measures to prevent further tragedies.
