The Volta Regional Minister, James Gunu, has disclosed that 22 people sustained injuries during the recent clash between students of Sokode Senior High Technical School (SHTS) and members of the Sokode community in the Ho Municipality.
The injured include 19 students—eight girls and 11 boys—along with two community residents and a journalist.
Speaking on JoyNews’ AM Show on Monday, February 24, a day after the incident escalated on the school premises, the minister confirmed that all the injured individuals had been treated at various hospitals and discharged.
Minister Gunu assured that calm had been restored and that “everything is normal now.”
He also confirmed directing the municipal education directorate to investigate the incident and provide appropriate recommendations.
Meanwhile, the school has been temporarily closed following the incident.
