In keeping with his commitment to promote diversity within his traditional area, the recently enthroned chief of Sokode Dwaso in the Eastern Region, Barimah (Dr) Kwabena Awuah, has contributed a parcel of land for constructing a mosque.

The donated land, situated in the resource-rich Sokode Dwaso area, will be utilized for the establishment of the first-ever mosque in the locality.

This gesture aligns with the promise made by Barimah (Dr) Kwabena Awuah I, ensuring the embrace of diverse faiths and the safeguarding of all religions within his jurisdiction.

Expressing his vision for the traditional area a few days after his inauguration, Chief Barimah Awuah emphasized the amalgamation of the positive teachings of the Quran and other religious doctrines into the people’s daily lives.

“We have earmarked a piece of land to be offered for the construction of a community mosque as part of our efforts to encourage diversity,” stated Chief Barimah Awuah.

He went on to explain that by enhancing the moral values of the youth, who represent the future leaders, other aspects such as educational success and prosperity in business are likely to follow.

He called on believers in the Islamic faith and philanthropic Islamic organizations to take advantage of the land donated to help put up the mosque.

He also called on such groups to support his vision to build a befitting school, library, teachers’ bungalows, as well as a well-resourced computer laboratory for his town.

The chief’s inauguration took place on Saturday, August 19, 2023, in a vibrant ceremony that marked the commencement of his role as a traditional ruler.Â
