SOCO Project: Nkwanta North Assembly equips 18 with modern bakery facilities

-

As part of efforts to boost local entrepreneurship, the Nkwanta North Assembly in the Oti Region has provided support to 18 bread bakers through the Gulf of Guinea Social Cohesion (SOCO) project.

This initiative aims to enhance the livelihoods of community members while promoting social cohesion and economic development in the district.

The project, which focuses on empowering local businesses, has equipped these bakers with modern bakery machinery to improve their production capacity and the quality of their products.

The new equipment includes state-of-the-art ovens and other essential tools that will not only streamline the baking process but also enhance the overall efficiency of their operations.

In a short ceremony to hand over the items to the beneficiaries, the DCE, William Nawua Kidinang, emphasized the importance of entrepreneurs in fostering economic growth and reducing unemployment in the area.

He noted that the assembly and the government’s commitment to empowering local businesses aligns with broader national goals of promoting self-sufficiency and sustainable development.

The DCE urged the beneficiaries to make use of the items to improve their living conditions.

Speaking with Adom News, the beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the Assembly and the officers in charge of the SOCO project for providing them with the modern facilities, noting the transformative impact it will have on their businesses.

The bakers said they were once limited by manual processes, but now, with the new bakery machines and equipment, they can increase efficiency and product quality.
