The 17-year-old pregnant prostitute, who has been promised support from Nollywood Diva Tonto Dikeh’s Foundation, said she sleeps with five different men every day.
Afia Nyarkoa, who is currently six months pregnant and also has a 2-year-old daughter, told Adom News reporter Maabena Duho Mensah her customers know about her pregnancy but they often insist that she slept with them for a fee of GHC10.
“I was forced to endure that pain because of my two-year-old daughter whom I feared would die of hunger if I don’t allow the men to sleep with me for the money,” she said.
But Afia said she has not gone out for business since her story came out on Adom News, and she is ready to change and embrace the support being offered her by Tonto Dikeh and her team.
National Project Director of Tonto Dikeh’s Foundation, David Dayo Olubunmi Fagbuyiro arrived in Ghana this morning with a great package set to end Afia’s suffering.
He says the girl and her dad will be checked into a hotel on Thursday and she will begin receiving medical care from Friday at the St. John’s Hospital Fertility Center, adding that the girl will also be given psychological counseling to prepare her for the change in her life.
“For someone who has been having sex since age ten, she should be counseled psychologically to prepare her mind for the change ahead,”
“We plan to remold her life and so we have also spoken with some pastors who will help her find her way to Christ because she says she loves Christ,” Fagbuyiro said.
Meanwhile father of the girl, Kofi Agyemang said Tonto Dikeh’s Foundation must sign some legal documents with his daughter to restrain her from returning to prostitution.
“She must commit herself legally to the Foundation and be jailed if she breaches the agreement; it will restrain her from going back into prostitution,” he suggested.
