Ghanaian producer and musician Skonti has opened up about his decision to put his music career on hold to manage fellow artiste Kwaw Kese.

In a conversation with Doreen Avio on Daybreak Hitz, Skonti shared that the decision was made without consulting Kwaw Kese.

“So I decided let’s do this. I didn’t even tell him I’m putting my career on hold; I just realized I had to put my career on hold and do it,” he revealed.

As a producer, Skonti emphasized his strength lies in music production. “Every producer can do a little bit of music if they want to put their mind to it,” he said.

Skonti has been managing Kwaw Kese for about three years and acknowledged the challenges of the role, which he believes has also enhanced his craft. “I’ve been managing Kwaw Kese for some time now, about three years now. It’s been tough, but at least it’s teaching me a lot and enhancing my craft and whatever I want to do,” he explained.

Although he put his music career on hold, Skonti revealed that his fans have been eager for new music, expressing their desire for a release. “After ‘Dondo,’ I haven’t dropped anything,” he said.

In the meantime, Skonti has been producing for Kwaw Kese, contributing to hits like ‘Awoyo Sofo’, one of the biggest songs trending in Ghana last year.

Skonti has also released an album titled ‘Woyo Deux’, meaning “win or you’re out.” The seven-track album features Kodjo Badman, Kofi Mole, and other Ghanaian artistes.
