A parent, who disclosed this on Adom News, said the young boy said he will be mocked by friends if he returns home.

“One of the boys tried to kill himself but we saved the situation. He has warned he will commit suicide if he does not gain admission,” the distraught parent told Adom News’ Central Regional correspondent, Kafui Justice.
The pupils stranded in the school since Sunday were asked to go home after it turned out their names were not on the admission list.

This was contrary to claims by their parents that they saw their names on the school’s notice boards and were asked to bring them on Sunday to start the 2019/2020 academic year.
Though the Ghana Education Service has apologised to the parents for the mishap, citing attempted hacking of the school placement system, they have refused to leave.
The parents and their wards now sleep in their cars to put more pressure on school authorities to rescind their decision.

Some of the pupils, who witnessed the unfortunate incident, said they are all contemplating suicide.
“It has broken out hearts. We are wishing to come to this school to become great people in future. Some are complaining that if they don’t get this school, they will commit suicide,” one pupil said.
