Presidential Staffer, Nana Yaa Jantuah, has cast doubts on the health status of former Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta, demanding pictorial evidence to substantiate claims of his illness.
Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen on Wednesday, February 12, she questioned the authenticity of Mr. Ofori-Atta’s reported medical condition, downplaying the letter from his lawyers.
The Special Prosecutor, Kissi Agyebeng, had declared Mr. Ofori-Atta wanted, alleging that he caused financial loss to the state in several dealings.
However, his legal team stated that the former minister was undergoing medical observation and tests, with treatment plans yet to be finalized.
They also clarified that Mr. Ofori-Atta had notified both the former and current Chief of Staff about his medical trip earlier in January.
Reacting to this, Nana Yaa Jantuah, a former General Secretary of the Convention People’s Party (CPP), said Mr. Ofori-Atta must urgently return to Ghana.
“If Ken has done anything wrong, they must go and bring him to answer. When I met him at the funeral of the wife of uncle Mike Gizo, he didn’t look sick. He even tucked in his shirt. Is it the case that he is running away from justice?” she remarked.
“You don’t downplay sickness, but I don’t believe he is sick. He should send a picture for us to see,” she added.
