Ghanaian singer Sherifa Gunu has been left devastated by the passing of Northern-based rapper Lazzy Bowy.
The budding musician reportedly died on Friday due to kidney failure.
In an emotional tribute, Sherifa expressed her heartbreak and confusion over the loss of the vibrant artist.
“My heart is broken right now. Lazzy Bowy, one of our sensational singers in the North, has passed away. He was from Konkomba land but sang deeply in Dagbani and Konkomba. This boy could sing, and rocks would move,” she wrote.
Lazzy Bowy was widely admired for his unique musical style, blending traditional Northern rhythms with modern influences.
He was one of the few artistes to perform during Chef Faila’s cook-a-thon in the Northern Region.
Sherifa Gunu played a pivotal role in propelling him to prominence by consistently advocating for Ghanaians to recognize and support his craft.
As tributes pour in, Sherifa also prayed for his soul, saying, “May Almighty Allah forgive all your shortcomings. RIP Lazzy Bowy.”
Fans and members of the music community have since taken to social media to mourn the loss of the rising star.
