Dancehall king Shatta Wale returned to Ghana to a rousing reception at Kotoka International Airport following his stellar performance at Vybz Kartel’s concert in Jamaica.
The artist was greeted by an enthusiastic crowd of fans, who celebrated his success by adorning him with a regal white kente cloth.
The intricate Adinkra symbols woven into the cloth symbolized his dominance in the dancehall scene and his cultural pride as a Ghanaian.
Shatta Wale was the only Ghanaian among a solid line-up of African acts to share the stage with Vybz Kartel at his Freedom Concert in Jamaica.
The concert, one of the country’s flagship events for the yuletide, was suspended following Vybz Kartel’s incineration.
