Self-acclaimed Dancehall King, Charles Nii Armah Mensah, has said he will present the award Key to the city of Worcester in the United States to President Akufo-Addo when he returns to Ghana from his tour in the USA.
Shatta Wale as he is popularly known received the keys from the Mayor of the City of Worcester in Massachusetts, Joseph Petty, in recognition of his contributions to the arts industry.
The Key to Worcester symbolizes that the owner has all the rights and privileges of a free man in the city.

In a phone call interview, the ‘Dancehall Commando’ disclosed he will present the Award to the President of Ghana, HE Nana Akufo-Addo to portray that under his political administration he had won this award.
He further added that he will plead with the first man of the country to open up the sectors of the Ghanaian Entertainment Industry to move the nation forward in terms of recognition abroad.
“With the key I have. I want to bring it to our president to thank him that under his governance I have received something in the name of Ghana so I want him to open up our industry for us…” he disclosed to Okay FM on Wednesday.

The ‘Ayoo’ hit maker further urged the media to shun ‘fake’ and harsh reports on Ghanaian musicians since people abroad pay a lot of mind to that in terms of musical collaborations.
He revealed that his fans in America were ultimately surprised to realize he wasn’t as ‘cruel’ as the media portray him and were happy to spend wonderful time with him taking photos and interviews.
“There are so many people interested in our industry but they [Media] paint us black…It is killing the market outside Ghana. When I come to America people love me. They don’t know why I am so cool and what they read on the internet doesn’t tally with my attitude…”
“I feel bad talking about the media. I get messages from some radio stations and I don’t talk to them. I know on whose side they are. I am sorry if I am stepping on some toes in the media…I know those who support Shatta and I respect them…” he stressed.
