The Sharkia Hockey Team of Egypt has arrived in Ghana ahead of the African Cup for Club Championship (ACCC) tournament.
The tournament which starts on Saturday at the Theodosia Okoh Hockey pitch will see clubs from Ghana, Nigeria, Egypt and Kenya participating.

Speaking to Asempa Sports’ Kobina Stonne on arrival at the Kotoka International Airport, the Head Coach of Sharkia team, Mohy Saad, said his team was well poised for the tournament.
“We have prepared adequately well and happy to be part of this year’s championship”, he said.
Saad, who has guided his side with 18 points after 6 games in the ongoing Egyptian National Hockey League complained bitterly about the weather, saying the organisers should have done better with the timing of the fixtures.

“We know the Ghanaian teams are very strong and play very well more so, the sun is too hot so the organisers should have considered scheduling the matches for the evening but whaever be the case, we are ready and will do our best.”, he added.
The eight-day competition will end on Sunday, January 28 and will involve both men and women.
