In the year 1983, a vision took shape in Ghana, laying the groundwork for a prestigious institution that would change the face of engineering in the country. Welcome to the story of the Institution of Engineering and Technology Ghana.

Dedicated individuals, driven by a passion for engineering excellence, came together to establish this beacon of professionalism.

Their mission is to promote engineering innovation and growth in Ghana.

1986 marked a significant milestone. The Ghana Institution of Technician Engineers received formal recognition, registering under the Professional Bodies Registration Decree 1973.

This certification solidified its status as a licensed professional engineering body.

As the Institution of Incorporated Engineers continued to grow and adapt to global trends, it underwent a significant transformation in 1996, embracing international standards and best practices.

In 2014, the institution underwent a transformative constitutional review. This comprehensive overhaul led to a name change: the Institution of Engineering and Technology Ghana.

A strategic decision to stay relevant, responsive, and inclusive.

Today, the institution boasts a robust membership base, attracting professionals from various engineering disciplines.

Empowered by its mandate, it registers Professional Engineers, Engineering Technologists, Technicians, and Craftsmen.

As a license body under Engineering Council the regulator, the Institution of Engineering and Technology Ghana ensures the highest standards of professionalism, competence, and ethical conduct among its members.

Advancing the engineering profession in Ghana, one member at a time.
