Napoli have put together an amazing campaign under firebrand manager Antonio Conte, as they attempt to win a second Scudetto in the space of three seasons – albeit with a side which has a far different identity and ‘vibe’ compared to the class of 2022-23.
This round they will welcome Udinese to the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium, with Conte praising his side for their resilience and determination: “We are facing some situations, both in terms of injuries and most recently the transfer market, situations that would kill a bull, but we are still standing.
Conte continued, “We don’t complain, we keep working and I always say that I have a group of players who are eager to work hard. The improvement of each individual player then allows us to improve collectively too.”
Reigning champions Inter Milan, meanwhile, will have a challenging home match against Fiorentina at the iconic San Siro. Though the Viola have struggled to replicate their early-season form, they will still represent a tricky challenge for the Nerazzurri.
“Inter are the best team in the league, and this hasn’t changed after a slow start to 2025,” said Italian football legend Fabio Capello. “However, it remains to be seen whether they still have the desire to play as they used to do before Riyadh [the Super Cup loss to arch rivals AC Milan], putting the same intensity in and being willing to dominate proceedings.
“Recently, they’ve been more oriented to defend and counter-attack. Inter used to press opponents, but now they defend with a low block. What they need is that desire to win the ball high up the pitch.”
This round will also feature Atalanta tackling Verona at the Marcantonio Bentegodi Stadium; Lazio welcome Monza to the Olimpico Stadium; Roma will visit Venezia’s Pier Luigi Penzo’s Stadium; and AC Milan head to the inspiringly-named Computer Gross Arena for a clash with Empoli.
“Once we get to Milan we need to want even more because we need to continue the success, hunger, desire with personal goals to get to the end of our career and be proud of what we’ve done,” said Milan manager Sergio Conceicao.
