Fiifi Boafo, the aide for New Patriotic Party (NPP) running mate, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh, has dared the person who recorded the viral video of the latter promising to return all seized excavators to own up.
Mr Boafo said the video and the voice are doctored, hence the person who will own up must provide the full footage as evidence.
In an interview on Adom FM’s morning show, Dwaso Nsem, he argued the video is a deliberate attempt to tarnish the reputation of Napo as he is popularly called, hence the challenge.
“When I saw the Tiktok video, I asked the media team if anyone recorded or heard Dr Prempeh say that but they said no. So I dare the person who can confidently say he or she recorded it to own up.
“Because the video in circulation is not a representation of what Dr. Prempeh said. The 20-minute full video we have do not contain that statement,” he said.
Mr Boafo emphasized that the NPP is committed to responsible mining under strict regulations to protect the environment.
