The Security Operative who slapped Ningo-Prampram Member of Parliament, Sam George, has reportedly been suspended from work.
“To the best of my knowledge, the operative who assaulted the MP has been sidelined and suspended from work,” DSP Samuel Kojo Azugu has said as part of his testimony at the ongoing inquiry into the chaos that characterised the Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election.

Sam George was a victim of the chaos as a video of him being slapped by a security officer on January 31, 2019, during the by-election in the constituency has made headlines.
Explaining this episode during the third day of hearing at the Commission of Inquiry set up to look into the incident, DSP Azugu begged for a private hearing.

According to the Commander of the SWAT unit, the words used are unpalatable for a public hearing.
“I saw the video and I can confirm that it was one of my boys that assaulted the MP. I will give his name, but in-camera,” he stated.
