Audio: Second victim in Gomoa Akraman violence missing, not dead – Police PRO clarifies

A middle-aged man, who sustained gunshot wounds during a cross-fire at Gomoa Akraman in the Gomoa East District of the Central region is reported missing and not dead as earlier reported.

Central Regional Police Public Relations Officer (PRO), DSP Irene Oppong revealed this on Adom FM’s morning show, Dwaso Nsem programme, Tuesday.

She said the victim, she gave his name as Russia left the Winneba Trauma Hospital where he was receiving treatment before the police got there.

This comes following the brutal murder of Gyaasehene of Gomoa Akraman, Yaw Egyir popularly known as ‘Osebo’ over an alleged land dispute.

DSP Oppong said no arrest has so far been made. But she noted that, the key witness, according hospital authorities was not discharged.

She assured of maximum security in the area due to the increasing crime rate in the area.

The PRO appealed to residents in Kasoa and its environs to volunteer information to enable police effect arrest.

She said they have been able to restore calm to the area and has also increased police visibility.
