The chiefs of Sankore in the Ahafo Region are concerned about the deplorable state of their roads and have therefore appealed to the Regional Minister, Charity Gardiner, to ensure a facelift as soon as possible.
The Krontihene, Nana Okofo Tabiri Gyansa, spoke on behalf of the chiefs when Madam Gardiner and her entourage paid a courtesy call on them.
He lamented that the excessive dust and potholes on the road pose serious health threats and accidents to commuters and residents.
With these concerns, he appealed passionately to the Regional Minister to mount pressure on the President to bring the contractor back to the site to ensure the smooth completion of the project.
Meanwhile, Ahafo Regional Minister Charity Gardiner indicated that, together with the Asunafo South MP and Minister for Food and Agriculture, Eric Opoku, they have engaged the President on the state of the road.
She assured the chiefs that the deplorable Sankore road will be asphalted in no time.
