“Urgent attention will be given to clearing of rubbish all around the country” he stated in his State of the Nations Address to Parliament Thursday.
His comment comes after the Minister of Sanitation; Joseph Kofi Adda was taken to the cleaners for not fulfilling his mandate.
Many have called for him to be reshuffled since their opinion; the insanitary condition in the country is growing from bad to worse.

But in a rebuttal, the Sanitation Minister told his critics that he was not appointed by President Nana Akufo-Addo to go about sweeping the streets and collecting public waste.
In his view, those clamouring for his dismissal do not understand the purpose for which his ministry was set up.
Delivering his address, President Akufo-Addo  revealed that, apart from the systematic efforts being made to resolve the legacy of inherited debts in the sector, government will spend, this year, an amount of GH¢200 million to address the vexed issue of sanitation.
He  stressed the need for public authorities to find means of making our cities clean
“In the case of Accra, fulfilling my pledge, one of the most ambitious of my presidency, to make it the cleanest city in Africa, by the end of my term” he opined.
President Akufo-Addo added that, government is working with various private sector operators to tackle this major challenge, with strategies that are intended to effect a change in our attitudes towards waste generation, as well as to improve dramatically our methods of waste management.
“This will be complemented by the strict enforcement of sanitation rules and regulations” he stressed.
