Sandra Seyram Kpedor has been elected and confirmed as the first female District Chief Executive (DCE) for Anloga since 2018.
During the voting on Thursday, April 10, 2025, Kpedor received 29 “yes” votes and 11 “no” votes from the 41 Assembly members and government appointees present, with one ballot being rejected.
Her confirmation makes Sandra Seyram Kpedor the second female DCE among the 18 Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) in the Volta Region.
In her acceptance speech, Kpedor pledged to work closely with all constituents in truth, dedication, and hard work to ensure the sustainable development and progress of the Anloga District.
“I am mindful that today is not a day for long speeches, for the real work begins now. We are here to champion the RESET agenda of the President, alongside my own transformative agenda for the Anloga District Assembly,” she said.
She outlined her key priorities, including improving healthcare delivery, quality education at all levels, road infrastructure development, enhancing safety and security, promoting tourism, and empowering youth and women.
Additionally, she emphasized supporting the farming, fishing, and agribusiness sectors, along with other vital developmental initiatives.
“I want to declare, without reservation, that my tenure as DCE will be marked by unity, humility, honesty, and servant leadership. I am here to serve—not to lord it over anyone. The work begins now,” Kpedor added.
She expressed her profound gratitude to President John Dramani Mahama for the trust he placed in her by nominating her to serve as his representative in the district. Kpedor also thanked the Volta Regional Minister, Hon. James Gunu, the Volta Regional Chairman, Mr. Agbavitor, his executives, the revered traditional leaders—particularly Togbui Sri III, the Overlord of the Anlo State, and Togbui Agbesi Awusu II, the Awadada of Anlo State—along with all the Assembly members for their immense support.
Sandra Kpedor began her education at Dzita Local Authority Basic School and continued at Anlo Secondary School, where she graduated in 1998.
She later earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Procurement and Supply Chain Management from Methodist University College and pursued Chinese Studies at Jinan University in China.
With extensive experience in logistics, organization management, and public service, Kpedor has developed a deep understanding of the aspirations and concerns of the Anlo community.
She also holds numerous positions in government institutions as well as within the National Democratic Congress (NDC), both at the constituency and national levels.
