‘Sakawa’ boys beat up Assembly man; threaten others

Residents of Assin Nsuta in the Central Region are worried about fraudulent and spiritual activities of some unknown men in the area.

According to them, they planned to put measures in place to curb what is termed as the Sakawa activities in the community but received life threatening messages from these men, a situation they described as very worrying.

The Assembly man and the unit committee member of Assin Nsuta, Nana Yaw who disclosed this to Adom News said they are living in fear because of these Sakawa boys who are threatening to take their lives.

Nana Yaw who claimed to have been attacked by the aggrieved Sakawa boys narrating his ordeal to Adom News’ Alfred Amoh said few minutes to midnight Wednesday, he heard loud knocks on his door with voices posing threatening to take his life.

“It is true. At about 11:50pm I heard someone knocking roughly but loudly on my door. The voice said where is the assembly man? The other voice said he’s from jail and as such he will use me as a bait to go back to jail,” he said.

The youth, who forcibly broke into his room and attacked him also threatened to pour petrol through his window and burn the house down for refusing to open the door.

The sakawa boys, the Assembly man said warned him not to report the issue to the police if he seeks to live longer.

Nana Yaw is therefore calling on the government to come to their aid since their activities are threatening their lives.
