Safo Newman shares interesting tale on life as a teacher

-

Budding musician, Safo Newman has opened up about his unconventional path into the teaching profession.

Despite not being a trained educator, Safo’s transition into teaching was born out of necessity after struggling to secure a job in his field of study.

As a graduate of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) with a degree in Construction Technology and Management, he initially envisioned a career in the construction industry.

However, he revealed in an interview on Hitz FM that after his national service, he made numerous attempts to secure a job, all of which proved futile.

It was then the Cosmos Basic School in Lapaz became his savior when he was offered a job as a career technology (formerly pre-tech skills) teacher.

He humorously revealed it is a smooth experience and the pupils regard him in spite of his smallish stature.

According to him, the job sustained him and transformed his living condition in Accra.

Safo Newman is a graduate of  T.I. Ahmadiyya Senior High School (TI Amass), where he was a senior to now-renowned musician Gyakie.

Despite the challenges, his journey into teaching has allowed him to contribute meaningfully to shaping young minds while navigating his own professional path.

Though he is yet to land a job in construction technology, he habors no regrets in the choice of course he studied at the tertiary level.
