The Kumasi High Court has ordered for the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the governing New Patriotic Party, Bernard Antwi Bosiako aka Chairman Wontumi be served by substituted service in the case in which he’s been sued by NPP’s suspended General Secretary Kwabena Agyapong.
According to Counsel for Mr Agyapong, lawyer Nana Fredua Agyemang Osborn, Chairman Wontumi has evaded service over the past few days making efforts by the bailiff to serve him with the summons writ difficult.
“Since we filed our case in court, it has become very difficult to locate Chairman Wontumi to serve him with the writ, and so the court was notified of the development. The court has asked that copies of the writ of summons to be posted at the NPP regional office, High Court and Circuit Court notice boards,” he told Kasapa News.
Lawyer Nana Fredua Agyemang Osborn, added since this has been done, it could be said that that Chairman Wontumi has been served with copies of the writ of summons.
Suspended General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party, Mr. Kwabena Agyapong has dragged Chairman Wontumi and the Multimedia Group before the High Court over alleged defamatory comments.
Mr. Bernard Antwi Bosiako on October 28, 2017, on Kumasi based Nhyira FM made statements targeted at bringing the hard earned reputation of the suspended General Secretary into disrepute.
Lawyers for Mr. Kwabena Agyapong, Sarfo Gyamfi and Associates gave Chairman Wontumi a Friday 3rd November 2017 deadline, to retract and apologize for the defamatory unsavoury remarks he made against Kwabena Agyepong on the same platforms he used; Nhyira FM in Kumasi and Accra based Neat FM.
But Chairman Wontumi disregarded the demand vowing not to ever apologize to Mr. Kwabena Agyapong.
