In a vibrant ceremony that highlighted both tradition and purpose, the Rotary Club of Accra- Airport East welcomed 11 new members into its growing family of service-driven professionals.
The induction, led by District Governor Florence Maame Hagan, Esq., and Club President Rotarian William Adjabui, signified not only an expansion in membership but a renewed commitment to Rotary’s core mission—service above self.
The new members are Kwaku Sintim-Misa (KSM), Francis Adzogble, Berlinda Akosuah Baah, Nettey Korkor Anang, Joseph Douglas Turkson, Justice Kojo Ofori-Quaison, Caroline Sena Tay, Neimatu Adjabui, Robert Armoo, Jamila Abu-fei, and Ewurabena Ashun.
They now join a global movement of over 1.4 million Rotarians united by a shared purpose: to create lasting change in their communities and around the world.
Anchored in Rotary Values
Rotary, since its founding in 1905, has operated under timeless principles that continue to guide its members today.
The Four-Way Test—a moral code for personal and professional conduct—remains central to every action taken by Rotarians:
- Is it the TRUTH?
- Is it FAIR to all concerned?
- Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
- Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?
These principles serve not just as a creed but as a daily guide for Rotary members, ensuring their work fosters trust, compassion, and tangible impact.
In her address, District Governor Maame Hagan praised the inductees for stepping up to serve in an era where leadership and volunteerism are needed more than ever.
“Rotary is not just a club—it’s a commitment to selfless service, integrity, and meaningful action. By joining, you are choosing to be part of something larger than yourself,” she said.
She also applauded Rotarian President William Adjabui and his team for strengthening the club’s membership and expanding its reach.
A Legacy of Impact
The Rotary Club of Accra Airport East has consistently lived up to Rotary International’s legacy of humanitarian service. From health campaigns to educational support, the Club’s contributions have left a mark across communities in Ghana.
One of the Club’s most recent achievements was the launch of its maiden Prostate Cancer Awareness Campaign, a bold initiative focused on men’s health.
In partnership with the Ghana Police Service, the campaign provided screening and health education to officers—many of whom were checked for the first time.
The campaign was a success, thanks in part to the influential support of Kwaku Sintim-Misa (KSM), the renowned media personality and satirist, who voluntarily lent his voice and platform to the cause.
In recognition of his selfless advocacy and alignment with Rotary ideals, KSM was conferred with an Honorary Rotarian title.
“His work exemplifies the spirit of Rotary,” said Rotarian President William. “We honour him not only for what he’s done, but to encourage others to use their influence to support community development.”
Honouring Partnerships
The event also featured a moment of appreciation for key partners who have contributed to the Club’s mission. Coca-Cola Ghana Limited, the Formed Police Unit of the Ghana Police Service, and individual sponsors were presented with plaques of recognition for their unwavering support of Rotary’s programs.
Their involvement reflects the Club’s belief in collaborative service and the power of partnership in solving community challenges.
Looking Ahead
For over a century, Rotary has championed causes that transcend borders—promoting peace, fighting disease, providing clean water, supporting education, and now, addressing climate change.
The induction strengthens the Accra Airport East Club’s ability to contribute to these global efforts while continuing its impactful local service.
As Rotarians, they step into a tradition that bridges cultures, connects continents, and most importantly, transforms lives.
