Ghanaian dancehall artiste Livingstone Etse Satekla known in music circles as Stonebwoy has spoken about the role he would play in the MASO Cocoa Project to the general public.
‘MASO’, meaning ‘Lift it up’ has five years life span which started in 2016 and aimed at touching the lives of 81,661 youth.
The musician has been touring parts of the Volta region as an ambassador of MASO programme that aims at empowering the youth of the country to participate in cocoa growing and rest of the cocoa value chain including allied service delivery in the cocoa sector of the country’s agriculture.
The programme focuses on creating employment opportunities for youth aged between age 18 and 25 in the Ashanti, Brong Ahafo, Western, Central and the Volta regions of Ghana.
Speaking to KMJ on Daybreak on Hitz FM the award winning musician who is the brand ambassador of MASO programme said his purpose in the campaign is to be a role model to youth.
“My role as an artiste is to inspire the youth most of whom I know love what I do. Regarding initiatives, these are the things that in future when one looks back becomes very proud for impacting lives. T hat is why I accepted to take part in the campaign,” he said.
According to him “my role is to serve as a role model to the youth to influence and attract them to project. I am to motivate them to acquire and achieve higher loyalties through hard work.
“I am also using my music to influence and encourage the youth to work towards establishing a future cocoa farm,” he said with pride.
