The Ministry of Roads and Highways, through the Ghana Highway Authority, has begun the installation of crash barriers nationwide to enhance highway safety.
The crash barriers are being installed along the Koforidua-Mamfe-Aburi Highway, the Brimso Bridge, and the two quadrants opposite the Achimota Forest at the Dimples roundabout.
This move follows similar successful works recently carried out on the Aburi-Nsawam stretch which has significantly enhanced road safety and reduced accidents on that corridor.
According to the ministry, site possession has officially been given to Messrs Hacienda Enterprise Ltd, the contractor to commence works.
“This vital road safety exercise aims to protect road users and enhance overall highway safety. Motorists are advised to drive with caution around active construction zones.
We appreciate your cooperation as we work together to make our roads safer for all,” the Ministry added in a statement.
