Members of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) have officially confirmed Richard Ofori Agyemang Boadi as the new Mayor for the Metropolis, following his victory in Thursday’s polls.
Mr. Boadi received an overwhelming endorsement, securing 55 out of the 56 votes cast.
In a brief address, the Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, urged Mr. Boadi to focus on critical issues such as decongestion, improving sanitation, and addressing the challenges at the Kejetia Market.
The minister emphasized that these ongoing challenges are hindering the region’s development and assured Mr. Boadi of the full support of the Regional Coordinating Council.
Mr. Boadi, who previously served as the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Obuasi under the National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration, now takes on the role of Mayor with a clear mandate to address these pressing issues.
