Rex Omar claims Creative Arts Agency operating without legal framework [Video]

-

Legendary musician Rex Omar has accused the Creative Arts Agency of operating illegally for several years due to the absence of a proper legal framework.

Speaking on Entertainment Hall on Adom FM with Mike 2, he revealed that for the first three to four years of its operation, there was no law governing the agency, making its actions unlawful.

Despite the law now being in place, he claims the agency continues to operate improperly, even with elections approaching.

Rex Omar also criticized the government for not fulfilling key promises made in the 2020 manifesto, including the failure to build cinemas and establish a functioning copyright system.

He further raised concerns about the state of the National Theatre, built by the Chinese, and questioned why repairs, such as fixing the air conditioning, could not be done without outside assistance.

In his view, the government needs to take a more holistic approach to improving the sector, including partnering with the private sector for funding and development.

He climaxed that the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) cannot claim to have completed 80 percent of its manifesto promises in the creative arts sector.
