Former President John Dramani Mahama’s recent election victory has brought renewed attention to a prophecy made in 2021 by Rev. Dr. Henry Godson-Afful, a Ghanaian pastor and prophet based in the United Kingdom.
Speaking on Metro TV’s Good Evening Ghana, Rev. Dr. Godson-Afful had prophesied Mahama’s return to power, asserting that the former president’s political career was not over despite his loss in the 2020 elections.
He described the 2024 election as a “battle of the North” between Mahama and Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia, claiming that Mahama would emerge victorious if he addressed key issues and reconnected with the electorate.
“The spirit tells me he will become president again if he sets certain things straight,” Rev. Dr. Godson-Afful remarked during the interview. His prophecy has now come to fruition following Mahama’s victory and Bawumia’s concession.
Rev. Dr. Godson-Afful, known for his accurate prophecies, also foretold the New Patriotic Party’s success in the 2020 presidential race, while warning of significant losses in parliamentary seats. Additionally, he accurately foresaw former U.S. President Donald Trump’s defeat to Joe Biden in the same year.
The London-based preacher, who holds a PhD in Management Education, heads the Rehoboth Network of Churches in Kent, United Kingdom, serves as its global president, and also leads the Emerald Edu Consult.
He emphasized during his 2021 remarks that all prophecies are subject to divine timing and positive human actions.
“Every prophecy has a season, and it can change,” he said. Rev. Dr. Godson-Afful also urged Ghanaians to pray for peace and unity, cautioning against political tensions similar to those experienced in the United States. He affirmed that his spiritual insights were unbiased and that he is not partisan and is a nation builder.
