The Ghana Police Service arrested 42 people on Sunday, September 22, 2024, after protesters from the Democracy Hub clashed with officers at the 37 Intersection in Accra.
The police say the demonstrators unlawfully gathered at the intersection and began causing trouble.
Some of them entered a police vehicle, took out the ignition key, and threw it away. Others pushed down barriers, blocked traffic, and damaged property.
Among those arrested were several leaders of the group, who are now in police custody and will face court soon.
Meanwhile, police are also searching for Oliver Vormawor, one of the protest leaders, who is currently on the run.
