Vice President of Groupe Nduom, Nana Ofori Owusu, says Ghanaians should unite and deal with the substantive issue as far as the upcoming referendum is concerned.
To him the ’YES’ and ‘NO’ stands would not make the referendum work and cautioned Ghanaians not to lose focus.
“The ’YES’ and ‘NO’ groups mean this referendum is not going to work because we are not united as a country,” he said.

“The substantive matter on the table is whether or not Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCE’s) should be voted for or not, the referendum is the process or the procedures we will take to get to the substantive matter,” he told Accra-based Peace FM, monitored by Adomonline.com.
He urged Ghanaians not to lose focus on the reason for the referendum and deal with other matters later.

“If it was up to me I think we should unite as a country and vote ‘Yes’ for the MMDCE’s to be voted for first before we think about political parties appointing members to be voted for at the local level. When we add the two then it becomes a problem,” he said.
