RE: Confusion rocks Forestry Commission over new CEO’s alleged refusal to revoke ‘illegal’ promotions

-

We act as solicitors for Mr. Yaw Atuahene Nyarko (our “Client”), Director of the Resource Management Support Centre of the Forestry Commission, and write this letter on his behalf regarding the defamatory story published on adomonline.com on 3rd March 2025, titled “Confusion Rocks Forestry Commission Over New CEO’s Refusal to Revoke ‘Illegal’ Promotions.”

We categorically state that the publication is false, misleading, and damaging to our Client’s professional reputation.

For your reference, we outline the facts below to clarify the truth of the matter:

  1. The Forestry Commission issued a vacancy announcement for the position of Director of the Resource Management Support Centre on 18th June 2024, for which our Client duly applied.

  2. Our Client was invited for a promotional interview conducted at the Public Services Commission on 13th September 2024. This process was based on clearly stated requirements and was conducted in strict adherence to the Forestry Commission’s Human Resources Policy and Procedures.

  3. The Public Services Commission officially communicated our Client’s successful appointment to the position of Director of the Resource Management Support Centre on 4th December 2024. Copies of this letter were forwarded to key institutions, including the Office of the Chief of Staff at the Presidency.

  4. Our Client promptly submitted his acceptance letter, thereby finalizing the appointment process in compliance with all regulatory procedures.

The selection process was transparent and merit-based, supervised by the Public Services Commission. Any assertion to the contrary is false and defamatory.

Our Client has an exemplary professional record spanning over three decades, characterized by integrity and outstanding performance. These facts are easily verifiable. There is absolutely nothing illegal or irregular about our Client’s promotion.

The said publication is therefore false, and there was nothing illegal about his appointment or promotion.

We therefore demand that you publish this rejoinder with the same prominence as the misleading and defamatory publication within three (3) days upon receipt of this letter.

We trust that you will treat this matter with the urgency and seriousness it warrants.
