The Rastafari Council, Ghana has suspended its intended march over the decriminalisation of marijuana, earmarked for Saturday April 20, 2019.
The postponement follows the Police’s inability to offer security due to the Easter celebrations.
A statement issued by the Rastafari Council said a press conference will be held at the Press Centre at 10:00 am on Saturday 20th April, 2019 to communicate the new date for the much-anticipated march.
“As a responsible body, we have put in place mechanisms to ensure that the safety of the Rastafari community and allies in this struggle are protected and will hence postpone the march to an agreed date,” said the Council in its statement.
