Ghanaian reggae artiste Ras Kuuku has opened up about the inspiration behind his upcoming EP, revealing that it was fueled by the remarkable comeback of former President John Dramani Mahama.
In an interview on Daybreak Hitz with DJ Slim, Ras Kuuku expressed his admiration for Mahama’s resilience and determination, which influenced his new project. He recalled how many people, including prominent pastors, had written off Mahama’s chances of returning to power after his tenure ended in 2017.
“My next EP coming was inspired by JDM. Whatever he went through and his journey inspired my EP,” he shared.
Ras Kuuku described Mahama’s political comeback as remarkable, noting that the margin with which Mahama won was even greater than the total votes some other candidates managed to pull.
“Looking at his position where people put him, like he would never come back, he was someone nobody thought would return. But he came back and won. The gap is even larger than someone else’s win,” he said.
The artiste also drew parallels between Mahama’s journey and his own career in music, emphasizing that both are examples of the power of perseverance.
“I see that Ras Kuuku, your brand, and whatever you’re doing is not too late. What’s ahead is what’s significant,” he added.
Ras Kuuku’s reveal underscores the values of hard work, patience, and consistency, advocating that time is a storyteller of the future.
