A rare video has emerged showing Mexican drug lord Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman inside a Maximum security prison cell discussing with someone who appears to be a prison official as he’s being processed into the prison before he has his beard shaved by a prison official.
The eleven-minute video released Tuesday night and obtained by news site Latinus, appears to offer rare footage of notorious Mexican drug lord Joaquin Guzman, who is now under lock and key for life at a top-security U.S. prison.
It should be remembered that El Chapo, as he is fondly called, was arrested in 2016 after multiple failed attempts by Mexican authorities to arrest him.
He escaped from prison in Mexico on two occasions, one by using an underground tunnel. Guzman was extradited in 2017 to the United States, where he was convicted of trafficking tons of cocaine, heroin and other drugs as leader of the Sinaloa Cartel.
He stood trial for drug trafficking charges and was found guilty at his drug trafficking trial in 2019, at a federal court in New York.
