The former Member of Parliament for Gomoa Central, Rachel Appoh, ensured that thirty-four children named after her had a memorable Christmas as she threw a grand party for them.
The children, thirty-four from her constituency and two from other parts of the country were named after Rachel Appoh in recognition of her incredible service to the constituency and impact on their personal lives.
The event was entertaining, with a variety of food and drink, Christmas-themed toys, and all kinds of gifts, including hampers being handed out to the children by Rachel Appoh.
They were also entertained with music, engaged in quiz and dancing competitions, and presented with awards for coming tops in the games.
Rachel Appoh, in a brief Christmas and New Year message, commended the children, their parents, and guardians for joining her to make the day a beautiful one.
The former Deputy Minister of Children and Social Protection appealed to the children to prioritize their education and remain studious in school.
She counseled them to eschew vices such as disrespect and arrogance and embrace virtues such as humility, respect, and godliness.
She assured them of her continued support for their education and general life and noted with utmost certainty that the incoming Mahama government will work to alleviate the hardship of parents in Ghana.
“Take your godly life seriously and never depart from the word of God,” she said while speaking to the children.
Addressing the parents, she said, “It’s an honor for parents to name their children after me. I will encourage the children to learn hard and grow up in God. I pray and hope they grow up successfully and achieve more than me.”
Some of the parents who spoke to the press eulogized Rachel Appoh for her continued support and prayed that God will bless her always.
It is worth noting that while the girls bear her direct name ‘Rachel Appoh’, the boys are given name the Raphael Appoh.
